Jazoo will unplug on Friday, June 12 in Radio Slovenia Studio 14, where we will introduce our best compositions from all three releases. Featuring:

• Vid Jamnik – great, if not the best Slovenian vibraphone player. He is only 14 years old and he has already shared the stage with the veterans of jazz vibraphone (Boško Petrović, Georgie Fame, David Gazarov, Howard Curtis, Duško Gojković…);
• Sašo Vrabič alias ‘MultiTask’ – multipurpose artist, painter and vocalist, also known as a member of Perpetuum Jazzile (Jazoo&MultiTask);
• Neža Drobnič – excellent young singer, receiver of an award for the best debutant according to the jury of ‘Slovenska popevka 2006’ and jazz vocal graduate at the secondary music school Ljubljana;

Jazoo is actively preparing concerts for a new season in Slovenia. Discussions for guest appearances abroad are also taking place. Details will be announced on time.

• After successful promotional shows introducing new studio release Detached, members of Jazoo travelled abroad.

• The audience in Ljubljana obviously loved our new compositions. The concert took place in an atmosphere of exceptional energy, spread by music of Jazoo throughout areas of Scientific Research Centre SAZU.

• Their music really ‘works’ and Jazoo proved this to Greek audience which had an opportunity to hear them live on three gigs. The most prominent was their performance at the 08. European Jazz Festival in Athens, where Jazoo also performed last year. This year they’ve justified their presence and left the audience with an unforgettable impression. Their first performance was at EuroJazz Festival in Preveza, a picturesque town on west coast of Greece where they are bound to return in future.

• Among participants at the aforementioned festivals with whom they’ve shared a stage was an excellent Hungarian singer of a new generation, Veronika Harcsa, an extravagant artist in Josipa Lisac’s style Sascha Ley and one of the most prominent bands from Denmark, Deodato Siquir Trio!

• In the company of great musicians Jazoo achieved significant recognition and had once again demonstrated that its members can easily cope with jazz players throughout Europe. Their last studio release Detached is opening the doors to gigs abroad because of their unique and original style. In September, their performance in Travnik was loudly applauded and at the end they have also shared a stage with Billy Gould, bass player from legendary Faith No More. In Sarajevo, two radio stations and TV Pink had broadcasted their live performance at a popular venue. At the moment, Jazoo is preparing for a tour in Czech Republic at the end of November. The tour will consist of five performances.

We are on Greece tour and we performed at opening of the 08. Eouropean Jazz Festival in Athens.

• Nothing is impossible for Jazoo. They have managed to record and publish their third album “Detached”! in record time! On their first day of recording, on January 10, this seemed almost impossible, but in the end, things went over as planned.

• “Detached” is the third studio release and the first with a fresh new line-up. It follows the ideas of “On Time” and “Retro Future”, but remains unique in style. New, uncompromising compositions with a strong message add up to the sense of greater energy and seven new songs hold more in themselves than the eye (ear that is) can see at first glance.

• Jazoo presents itself in a line-up that brings freshness and positive energy to such demanding music. Their genre is hard to define as members have origins and influences in different styles of music, the nature of which can be sensed in their compositions. Many critics have categorized them as ‘jazz’, but they prefer the term ‘improvised music’, which, besides jazz, incorporates various elements of ethno, electronic, funk, fusion, ambiental and nu-jazz music.

• “Detached” was recorded in Austria/Carinthia in Pachlar Record Studio with Michael Vavti and Iztok Žiberna and in Ljubljana (GVIDO Music Mgmt) with the keyboarder Tomaž and the priceless advices of producer Franci Zabukovec. The mastering was done by the flawless Martin Žvelc. The cover design was realized by Srđan Prodanović.

• Since their beginnings, * Jazoo have been releasing their records under the patronage of Membrane Records, based in Zürich. Their new release “Detached” will be printed in 5000 copies. In the year 2007 Jazoo plays at least three of the most important festivals in Slovenia, besides the ORTO Festival. This confirms its status of a cult band that does not deviate from its directions.
